Lakes, Snow and Nativities
Good Morning, I hope you are all warm, safe and well.
Frosty start this morning.
Jobs in progress
Been up super early, the bins are out for collection and the washing machine is on with the first load. I have had my breakfast, done a bit of computer work and it is only 8.15.
Trip to the Lakes
We have been away for a few days and I have lots of catching up to do.
We had booked for Sunday and Monday at the Bassenthwaite Hotel, watching the weather report for the weekend it was going to snow on Sunday in the Lakes so we booked another hotel for the Saturday night to drive over the A66 before the snow came.
We had a super journey over the top, the hills and mountains had a covering of snow and it was bright and sunny, a very good start, we stayed in Pooley Bridge.
It was cold and frosty for the three nights we were away and we had no snow!!!!
Keswick was lovely and Christmassy with a craft show in a hotel in the centre. I love to go to craft shows to see other peoples work. There were a few different stalls with glass work, knitting, photographs and jewellery, many talented people.
We took lots of pictures between us from robins, beautiful views and red squirrels.
Coming home was a different matter the snow had hit the East Coast and there was more snow at home than we saw in the west. haha.....
Christmas to sort out, cards are finally done and ready to post today.
I think I will have to get the decorations out tomorrow or I will be called Scrooge. Bah humbug!!!
Sometimes I find it hard to fit in the decorations when my classes and workshops are still on, last night was the last class, so big tidy up in order and then we can get our preparations done.
I have been asked to design a scarf and hat to match the wrist warmers that I worked on a while ago, it is lovely to get a commission. The scarf is halfway there and the hat is design is in my head so far. Hopefully I will have more time today to get on with the job.
In our hotel room was a vase with peacock feathers, I feel another design coming here. Beautiful colours.
Yesterday was a busy day with both my Grandsons nativity plays being on, one at 9.30am and the other at 2.00pm. I really enjoyed them both. It always makes me want to cry when I see the children acting and singing, I am so emotional...
The youngest Grandson Oliver is autistic and he goes to a special school, they even managed to get him to wear his Christmas jumper... that really is a first... the staff there were amazing they were all dressed up and sang and danced with all of the children. Such enthusiasm and happiness, the school is small and has a lovely atmosphere..
