Hello, Flamingo Socks It's Louise here with this weeks blog update. I have had a bit of low motivation this week but have been really enjoying knitting these socks for my Sister's Birthday present. So pleased to get them finished (nearly on time) I bought a skein of Legless Flamingo from Stranded Dyeworks a few months ago. I thought the colour would contrast really well with Opal Uni in black to make a fab pair of flamingo socks.
I used 9" circular needles for the first time, I have heard mixed reports about these needles but I absolutely love using them and it made knitting the socks a bit quicker. Then I got to the toe decreases and it got very fiddly so I switched to DPNs. The pattern I used for this pair of socks was the Hermione Everyday socks.
Meltdowns, exams and house work My eldest son is sitting his SATs exams this week but he seems to be coping well and even said Monday was more fun because they were allowed extra playtime after the exam. We have had a mixed bag of behaviour from Oliver in the past week. I have been speaking to his teacher this morning to see how he is getting on in school but he seems very anxious at the moment.
This morning I have been trying to unblock the kitchen sink as both my dishwasher and washing machine were not draining. Fingers crossed I have fixed it.
Casting on a new travel project I have a long train journey soon, so I want a super easy travel knitting project. I thought I would cast on this pattern called Just knit it by Susan Ashcroft which should be perfect for travelling project.
Thought I would cast on to make sure I was happy with the pattern and yarn combination.
Hope everyone is having a good week,
