Christmas Tree Blanket
Hello, At the beginning of August I had an idea for a Christmas blanket. I wanted to create something that was fun and a little bit different :-) I love Christmas and making Christmas themed projects so I had the idea to make a Christmas tree shaped blanket made up of different coloured green squares. I wasn't really sure how it would turn out but I am so pleased with the finished result.
I started making the squares using oddments of greens we had left over from other projects. The Stylecraft Special DK range has many greens to chose from. I chose a square design from the Stockton squares pattern.
Layout and chosen colours
I have had many people asking which colours I have used. The star on the top of the tree is Stylecraft Special DK in mustard.
The main tree is made up of the following greens;
I used Lipstick and Claret for the pompoms but you really could use any colours you like. The border is a simple DC all the way around using Khaki.
Pom pom maker - I really struggle to make pom poms so I decided to get a pompom maker as when I make them they fall apart. This made making pom poms so much quicker and easier, I think I still need a bit more practice as some of them look a little squashy.
We are getting back into the school routine now, Mam and I had a day together this week working on some website problems and changes.
Love this scarf pattern made using Stylecraft head over heels....
Have a good week,
Louise and Ali x
