Hot Hot Hot and really hot
Hot hot hot, what a very hot sticky week it has been.
It must be at least 24 degrees outside already this morning and it is only 8am
What is on my hook today
I have made a few more face scrubbies and I have also been knitting this week.
Set myself a challenge to use up some oddballs of lovely yarns. You know how you just buy only one ball and then don’t know what to do with it.
I am making the spring Cleaning Shawl from West Knits, I am really enjoying it and am currently working the 5th part of 7 panels so have not far to go to finish.
Louise is making a lovely pair of socks using hand dyed yarn by Trailing Clouds which is dyed to stripe in the colours of the London Underground tube lines.
This weeks special offer
Ok so I thought I would do another pattern on special offer this week. This time blanket pattern for a car seat sized blanket.
This is a nice easy pretty blanket it works well in lots of colours of Stylecraft Special DK.
Code for this weeks 50p off is Happy50P available July and August
I love to buy books I now only buy stitch books for crochet I don’t have space now for lots of just pattern books
The go to book for me at the moment is Crochet Stitches Visual Encyclopedia by Robyn Chachula
It has lovely clear instructions and charts the only thing you have to remember it is American Terminology
This next book by Erika Knight Crochet Stitch Motifs
This book uses UK terminology and has lots of clear instructions and charts
I have just bought Gradient Style edited by Kerry Bogert. It is a super book with lots of colour shifting techniques and knitting patterns.
I really like it and can’t wait to find the time to try it out, it has nicely written patterns and some charts
Luxury Yarn one skein Wonders edited by Judith Durant.
This book has knitting and crochet patterns using 1 ball and is another American Terminology book.
The book has sections for different weighted yarns so it is easier to look up the patterns for the yarns you want to use.
Some small items and some a little more challenging with cables and lacy techniques.
I have been working outside and this little chap popped by to see me…
Have a lovely week,
Ali and Louise x
