Books, warm weather and slow progress
Sunshine, the past few days have been so warm and sunny. So nice to have the washing out on the line after all the rain last week.
One of my bookshelves
I have many books on lots of different crafts. Although on this bookshelf I only have crochet books and a few knitting books as well as books about dyeing yarn. I also allow Phil a tiny space for travel books because that is what we love to do. :-)
So here are three books chosen at random from my shelf.
This is a lovely colourful book really good for beginners.
Super how to photos and many patterns starting with garter stitch and then other techniques as you work through the book.
There are scarves, bags, toys, socks and clothes...
Not for the beginner, this book is woodland inspired fairisle knitting for hats, gloves and mittens, I really want to have a go at these but would need at least a month off work to work on them. There are good instructions and beautiful charts to help you discover this lovely technique.
The final book this time is Knitting outside the swatch by Kristin Omdahl
This book has some lovely motifs for all kinds of projects it gives patterns for the shapes and also a pattern to use them on. Again something I would like to spend some time on.. alas I have too many crochet ideas that need to be finished and started before I forget them.
What I am working on
I am many weeks behind in typing up patterns and hope to have some finished soon, Teddy Bear Wool is almost done and then it will be ready to be tested.
Higgledy Piggledy Two is in also progress so they are going to be my priorities over the next few weeks..
There are too many unfinished patterns to be typed up and lots of new ideas in my head for starting. oh dear it is a shame typing is so slow.
I have made a blanket this week and really enjoyed doing something simple.
Louise has been busy knitting on the Wishes Cardigan….it is nearly finished but the rows are super long. She has also cast on a new short sock to use up some oddments of yarn from stash.
On with the work now
Talk again next week
Please let us know if you are a knitter, or crocheter or if both which do you prefer…..
