Finished Object - Penguono

Louise here with a quick finished object blog post. I started knitting the Penguono last August when we went away for my 40th Birthday. I wanted to make something a bit different and challenging so I thought a Stephen West pattern would be the ideal option.

The great thing about this pattern is you can use a mix of yarn and you could even use up scraps and oddments.  I opted for a mix of DK weight and 4ply yarns together mainly using shades of purples, greys and black.

You may find it easier to have two long cable needles.  Towards the end of the pattern you will need to pick up lots of stitches.  Picking up stitches is not one of my favourite tasks but making the Penguono has been great fun due to its very interesting construction.

I over ordered yarn, I think I would have enough to make another one :-)

It fits really well but I am not sure Stockton on Tees is ready for the Penguono so it may just be a cozy house cardigan.

For some strange reason I left darning all the ends until I had finished all the knitting so that took a quite a long time but it really is a fun project.

Happy Knitting,
