Decorations and Advent Calendars

starting to feel festive.

Hello, it seems to be December again. Where has this year gone? Last year I tried to write a blog post everyday in December, Blogmas 2017. I enjoyed it so much I thought I would try again this year.

What I am working on?

Last Sunday I cast on a Sock Head cowl by Kelly McClure using a ball of yarn I bought from our trip to Edinburgh earlier in the year. It’s a lovely purply pink speckled yarn from Ripples Yarns.

This project is such a relaxing knit, rounds and rounds of stocking stitch. Ideal television watching knitting.

What I have done today?

The weather has been horrible, raining and very dark. I am still full of cold so we have had a cozy day in the house. Yesterday afternoon I said to Peter, my husband I was disappointed I didn’t buy a yarn advent calendar. He was in such a good mood after passing an exam he said to try and find one but I thought I had left it too late. After a bit of googling I found one I loved and it was still in stock. This is the calendar I ordered, The Yarn Advent from Vicki Brown. She posted it straight away and I was over the moon it arrived this morning. I think I will make a pair of scrappy socks with the minis.

It looks like I have opened door 2, I promise I haven’t peeped :-)
